Hi, I’m Bryan Guiney.

I’m running for City Council because I care deeply about the future of Lake Oswego and the choices we’re making right now. As a father, a husband, and someone who has dedicated my career to public service, I want to ensure this remains a community where families can thrive, businesses can succeed, and residents feel heard. I believe in practical leadership that delivers results. That means listening first, bringing people to the table, and making decisions that reflect the long-term interests of the community, and not short-term politics.

I value stewardship of our neighborhoods, our environment, our businesses, and our City’s fiscal health. Lake Oswego didn’t become what it is by accident. It takes disciplined planning and thoughtful growth to protect what people love while preparing for what’s next. I also believe in accountability. Whether it’s elected officials, city staff, or partners, we owe residents transparency, follow-through, and outcomes that make a real difference in daily life.

Lake Oswego has a lot to be proud of, and the next few years will be pivotal for our city. We will welcome new leadership, including a permanent city manager and city attorney. We will see major projects move forward, including the North Anchor and Foothills developments, our wastewater treatment plant replacement, and the new South Shore Fire Station. As a community, we will also make important decisions about the future of our library.

At the same time, we must come together to address one of our biggest challenges: how to meet the need for more housing, so our teachers, firefighters, local workforce, and young families can live here, while preserving the character that makes Lake Oswego the place we love.

Every day, I see the gap between good intentions and real execution. I’ve spent my career closing that gap, bringing together governments, nonprofits, and the private sector to solve complex housing and economic challenges. I’m running to bring that same disciplined, results-oriented approach to Lake Oswego.

My name is Bryan. I’m a Marine, a public servant, a Lake Oswego Planning Commissioner, a husband, a father, and your neighbor.

I’m running for City Council to help guide Lake Oswego through what comes next, and I want to hear from you.
